I am an occupational therapist, experienced yoga teacher and academic with a passion for natural and accessible avenues to optimal wellbeing. With my primary degree in Applied Psychology, I have always been interested with the real world application of strategies and techniques to support mental health. This led me to study occupational therapy which is focused on practical, solution focused, functional, scientifically supported ways to create a life that supports wellbeing, meaning and optimal mental and physical health. With a postgraduate qualification in higher educational practice, I am highly trained to educate, empower and equip individuals and groups with the knowledge that allows them to take charge over their own wellbeing.

When working with me you can expect me to bring my years of experience to the table, in a compassionate way that is tailored for you. To achieve this, I believe it is essential to consider and address the many different and interconnected aspects of the human and so consider clients through a client centred, trauma informed, holistic lens. I assess and investigate multiple areas of a clients life so I can consider and treat the whole person. From this perspective, I craft bespoke treatment paths and implement interventions for clients using my unique skill set, and by integrating knowledge of a range of scientifically supported techniques such as activity engagement, CBT strategies, lifestyle medicine, nature based therapy, sensory integration strategies and somatic practices.

I have experienced the transformative power of occupation in my own life, using some of the principles and techniques I share with others. I am a firm believer “walking my talk” as it makes me a better therapist, and a happier human. So, you will often find me in the sea, bare foot walking, spending time in nature, practicing yoga and marvelling at the wonderous little things in life.

I am an Occupational Therapist with a passion for Autism and a love of nature. As the mother of children with additional needs I was shocked to find how society, public spaces and facilities were full of barriers to my children’s equal participation and presented them with unsupportive additional challenges. I turned to nature to support my children, daily walks in green spaces lead me to see great results in our mental health and family well-being.
I came to Occupational Therapy with a firm belief that our children deserve the best to lead full lives were they are included and valued. I am particularly interested in sensory processing, how our bodies interrupt the world around us and how sometimes individuals can experience diffiuclties which impacts upon their behaviour and well-being.

Achieving goals and the life they desire is a passion of mine and I have worked with amazing young people to enable then to grow and achieve their dreams. One on my fondest achievements is helping a neurodivergent university student who struggled to speak on the telephone. Through interventions they gained a part-time position at a university call centre. Finding a voice and gaining confidence , a temporary summer job turned into a permanent part-time job. My client thrived and gained valuable work experience whilst studying for a degree. I strongly believe that with the right support we can all achieve great things. These goals vary for everyone, some children are struggling in school, maybe they need support with handwriting this in turn leads to them gaining confidence, making friends and finding a place where they are happy. Sometimes it is the smallest of things which lead to the biggest results.

As a parent I believe the greatest way the help those individuals with ADHD, ASD diagnosis or other conditions is to support those who care for them first.
This holistic family approach ensures everyone is considered and supported.
